Summary:

As the group gathers in the desert, Breda begins to tell the story of how they all ended up in the eastern desert. Earlier, Colonel Roy Mustang and 2nd Lt. Breda were in Mustang's office discussing the charges against Maria Ross. While they are discussing this, a call comes in from Barry Chopper, but Mustang and Barry black out the call by pretending that Barry is the Colonel's girlfriend. The call is cut and Mustang heads to the outside phone to continue the conversation and complete the planning to rescue Ross. Breda is sent to get supplies for this task.Jumping forward, we see Colonel Mustang meeting Ross in an alley. Instead of burning Ross to a crisp, Mustang pulls a human simulacrum out of hiding and roasts it instead of placing Ross's ID on the fake corpse. She then sends Ross away with Havoc, who takes her to Ling Yao and Fu, who takes her to the Eastern Desert.>Now that everyone is caught up in the recent events, it is decided that they will share all the information that has been gathered so far about the homunculi. After a discussion, Ed vows not to let anyone else get hurt while helping him and his brother. At the same time, it is decided that Maria Ross has no choice but to head east to Xing, as Amestris is no longer safe for her. Fu and a small group lead her east.Before the rest of the party heads back to Central, the leader decides to take another look at the ruins of Cselkcess. While there a group of Ishvalans try to capture him. This fails and their leader, Lady Shan, learns that Edward knew the Rockbells were telling him the details of their deaths at the hands of an unknown Ishvalan, who had a distinctive tattoo on his right arm. The group and Ed then part amicably and Ed returns to his friends.The military group heads back to Central, but Ed breaks away from the group to make his way home to get his arm repaired, deciding to stop by his mother's grave on the way back. There he sees Van Hohenheim.
